Help Make Halloween Magical for Every Child
Halloween is one of those special childhood moments—the excitement of choosing a costume, getting dressed up, and heading out for an evening of fun. For families experiencing homelessness, however, purchasing a Halloween costume may simply not be possible.
We want every child staying at Catholic Worker House to have the chance to feel excited, included, and proud of who they get to be for the night.
This Halloween, we’re collecting new or gently used costumes and accessories for children Preschool through 8th Grade. Whether it’s a superhero cape, princess dress, dinosaur costume, witch hat, or something completely silly, your donation can help create a memory a child will carry with them long after Halloween is over.
Because childhood should still have moments of magic—even during difficult times.
Help us give our kids a Halloween filled with costumes, candy, laughter, and memories.

Our shelter provides more than just a safe place to stay—we provide the everyday essentials our guests need to live with dignity. Because we supply everything from hygiene products and bedding to cleaning supplies and household necessities, these items are always in demand. Your donations help us keep our homes clean, comfortable, and welcoming for the women and children we serve. Every item you give makes an immediate impact and helps us continue providing care, comfort, and hope to families rebuilding their lives
All donations can be dropped off at Catholic Worker House at 1027 5th Ave SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52403 between the hours of 8am and 8pm Monday-Sunday.
Please call 319-362-9041 with any questions.
