Support Catholic Worker House Today

St. John of the Cross Catholic Worker House

St. John of the Cross Catholic Worker House (CWH) is a 501(c)3 Non-profit organization.

We are a homeless shelter who provides housing to married couples and single women, with or without children. Our homes are a place of warmth and welcome.

Our guests can stay between 30-90 days. While this is our guideline we do understand that each individual is unique and we treat them as such.

At CWH we practice what we preach! We want everyone to not only find housing, employment and quality of life but also true happiness within. We want them to not just exist but to exceed their own expectations.

We are dedicated to serving the needs of our local community. From providing food and shelter to those in need to offering Case Management and Aftercare services.

We are committed to making a positive impact on the lives of those around us. By supporting Catholic Worker House, you are supporting your community and helping to build a brighter future for all.

Case Managment

Our clients meet weekly with the House Manager and the Assistant house manager. During this meeting time they are encouraged to fill out job applications, find housing, set goals and show progress.

We will help by assisting with resumes, job searches and interview skills.

Building Our Community

We are always looking for ways to enrich and engage the women and children staying at Catholic Worker House. One way we do this is by inviting members of our community to share their talents and passions. Recently, Mira Gibbon shared her gift of music with us, filling the house with calming violin melodies that brought peace to everyone listening. Moments like these remind us how powerful it is when people share what they love. Just as our staff shares their hearts with our clients each day, we welcome others in our community to come and share their gifts as well.

“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” — 1 Peter 4:10

This work is deeply personal to her. Ashley believes every family deserves safety, dignity, and the opportunity to move forward. At Catholic Worker House, she walks alongside mothers and children as they take those next steps—together.

Through the Lens of Giving: Catholic Worker House in Pictures

Some moments don’t look big—but they are everything. For one of our mothers, it was a bookshelf and beds coming together, turning a space into a home and a turning point toward stability for her children. Since November, she has grown, built relationships, and given back through volunteering. What began as need became belonging. She leaves with gratitude—and isn’t really leaving, as she continue
